Edinburgh Castle is Scotland’s most visited paid tourist attraction and from its position, high on Castle Rock, it dominates the Edinburgh skyline.
The One o'Clock Gun
The One o’Clock Gun is fired from the Castle at 13.00 every day except Sundays, Christmas Day and Good Friday.
The ‘Time Gun’ was established in 1861 as a time signal for ships in the Firth of Forth and the harbour of Leith.
